Friday, October 14, 2022 –A middle-aged lady was on Wednesday arrested ferrying Sandalwood valued at sh 2 million.
Police in Bahati Nakuru confirmed holding the woman they found carrying the wood inside her black Prado car Registration Number KDC 299D to a destination not known.
Currently, there is high demand of Sandalwood as it is used as traditional medicine, woodworking, rituals, pharmaceuticals and perfumes.
The suspect was intercepted and arrested at Maili Saba area along the busy Nakuru-Nyahururu Highway on Wednesday.
Nakuru North Sub County DCI boss, Wesley Langat, said police managed to intercept the vehicle following a targeted tip off from a member of the public.
On thorough scrutiny, police would establish that the car was loaded with 500 Kilograms of Sandalwood with an estimated street value of sh 2 million
