Saturday, January 28, 2023 – Azimio la Umoja coalition leaders have vowed to take-on William Ruto through their ‘No handshake’ rallies scheduled around the country.
Addressing in their first ‘No Handshake’ rally held at Nairobi’s Kamukunji Grounds recently, opposition leader Raila Odinga vowed that, he will do anything possible to claim back his stolen victory.
“You cannot threaten nor intimidate us. We are going to demand electoral justice even if we are threatened with death,” Odinga said in one of the clips recorded at Kamukunji adding that:
“Sina haja na Handshake, Tukutane Jacaranda siku ya jumapili!
“Ati wanatutisha sisi. Sisi hatuwezi kutishwa. Sisi tunadai haki yetu na tuko tayari kukufa tukipigania haki yetu,” he firmly stated.
On his part , Wiper’s Kalonzo Musyoka said there can be no peace without justice: while Odinga’s ex-running mate Martha Karua warned that the country does not belong to two individuals only.
Additionally, Jubilee Party Secretary General Jeremiah Kioni said the claims from the William Ruto’s wing of Kenya Kwanza that Odinga is seeking a handshake with Ruto were baseless since it is not possible for Azimio to go in bed with those who stole their win.
“The journey to deliver Kenya from an Illegitimate, clueless, planless, rudderless, directionless and leaderless regime is on course,” he said.
In the last general election, Raila lost to William Ruto in a tight race that saw the two end up with a vote difference of atleast 200,000 votes.
