Sunday, September 26, 2021 -Laikipia Woman Representative Catherine Waruguru and MP Kanini Kega were yesterday involved in a public spat over the rise of fuel prices.
The two vocal legislators, according to Homenews. co.ke, engaged each other during a burial service held somewhere in Mt. Kenya where Catherine popularly known as Cate slammed Kega for failing to capitalize on his close relationship with President Uhuru Kenyatta to fix the rising cost of living in the country.
“If you speak to the President often, why don’t you tell him that things are bad and the cost of gas and fuel is very high,” Waruguru said.
But Kega immediately told off the Laikipia MP by reminding him that its not a prerogative of the president to check the cost of living in any country, instead Members of Parliament are largely responsible.
“Let’s be problem solvers. Solutions are made in parliament and not in public functions like burials,” Kega said.
Kega is the current Parliamentary National Budget Committee Chairman who is also a close ally of President Uhuru Kenyatta.
