Saturday, October 15, 2022 –Democratic Action DAP- Kenya has cautioned members of the public against former Member of Parliament Benjamin Washiali who is said to be busy sabotaging current Mumias East leadership.
Through an official statement on Saturday October 15 evening, the party notified the general public that Washiali is no-longer the area MP for Mumias East and, therefore, has no capacity to speak on behalf of the Constituency.
“This is to notify the general public and especially the people of Mumias East constituency that the person whose photo appears below Ben Washiali is no longer an MP. He has been trying to sabotage our MP Salasya by trying to force payments on pending projects,” the statement read.
This development is coming barely a week after the new MP Peter Salasya publicly accused him of meddling in the Constituency leadership affairs.
“MPs in the 12th parliament who didn’t made it back to the 13th parliament please don’t give your successors hard times like this one, Ben Washiali, who still believes he is still the MP of Mumias East Constituency. Acceptance in life is something very key other than the denial,” Salasya quipped.
Mr. Washiali who is allied to Kenya Kwanza wing did not vie in the August 9 polls and, instead, chose to focus the rest of his life on family and private businesses.
