Thursday, December 22, 2022 –Veteran tele-actor Gibson Gathu Mbugua aka Prosecutor has succumbed to illness.
Making the official confirmation of his deat on Thursday December 22, the Kenya Broadcasting Corporation KBC management announced that their long-serving thespian had died.
His illness had been kept a top secrete until it was recently disclosed to be Diabetes which started some 20 years ago.
In 2021, the overwhelmed family went public by making requests to the general public and well-wishers to help fund his medication. This was after his condition started worsening.
Kenyans were urged to make their contributions to a certain specific Pay Bill Number so that he could undergo a kidney transplant procedure, urgently.
Immediately, friends organized a major fundraiser in June 2022 in which the former president Uhuru Kenyatta made his contribution of sh 2 million for the hospital bills.
The patient would undergo the transplant in August the same year in which he updated that it went on well and that he was now feeling fairer.
“I have been in hospital since July 18, 2022, and I was discharged on August 3, 2022. I feel so good,” he said.
In their Vioja Mahakamani television show, he was together with other veterans like Mama Kayai, Makokha, Ondiek Nyaka Kwota etc.
The drama show is still running on the same channel todate; though abit rebranded.
