Journalist union cry foul after Cabinet Secretary Prof George Magoha’s aide ‘grabbed balls’ of a local journalist.
A video has gone viral showing Magoha’s bodyguard being exposed by journalists on coverage who claimed he had manhandled their member.
This was happening when the CS was on a tour at Kasawo Primary School in Kisumu County on Thursday November 19.
It has since been confirmed that this evil action was perpetrated on a Kisumu based journalist for Nation Media Group, Ondari Ogenga, who is a photojournalist by profession. Also in the mix was his female counterpart Viola Kosome.
Reacting to the happenings, Chairman Kisumu Journalists Network KJN Rushdie Ouda said this happened just because the Magoha’s team feels threatened by the cameras after the Uasin Gishu incident where he was captured live insulting an old education official.
“I was just going about my duties when the uniformed bodyguard shoved me out of nowhere. It is not right because we were doing our duties and they had invited us, we did not gatecrash,” Kosome, the victim, told a local blog.
It is also claimed that the CS team never wanted cameras around them but the victim had no idea about the new directive when he bumped into the problem.
“In the next classroom, the bodyguard targeted the photojournalist and physically assaulted him below the belt after which he let out a shriek and a small confrontation ensued. The CS did not notice since it was a very big team,” the witness recounted.
Last few months the same security personnel at the center of the saga perpetrated an almost similar crime on another scribe in Vihiga County by inserting fingers in his mouth.
