There were widespread ugly scenes from Uganda after police arrested National Unity Platform NUP Party leader Robert Kyagulanyi Seentamu aka Bobi Wine.

The Opposition candidate who has captured the imagination of many young and oppressed youth with his incessant calls for Museveni’s ouster, has in recent time attracted huge following that is pushing him to take power from the incumbent who has stuck in office now for the 36th year.
On Wednesday Nov 18th for instance, his supporters blocked roads and burnt tires along the streets after they had learnt of his arrest. He was arrested in Eastern town of Luuka and rushed to police station in city of Jinja.
This created violent clashes among rival groups as Yoweri Museveni’s forces used force to control the situation that led to one innocent youth dead on the ground.
Sources told Homenews desk that police aimed at the harmless young man who was protesting Bobi Wine’s arrest as dozen of others were also injured by ‘heartless’ law enforcers.
The level of damage was later confirmed by the Red Cross officials after Wine, who is now 38 years old, was being taken to the police cell for carrying on campaigns amid Covid-19 pandemic.
“Violently broke into my vehicle” and took me into custody. I urge supporters to resist tyranny. We shall certainly overcome,” he tweeted.
While talking about his struggle, Wine posted a photo of his dead supporter who was shot by police and left lying in a pool of blood. His right hand was folded and up. This is a signature simple Bobi Wine’s supporters always use whenever they are on rampage.
