BOBI WINE INTERVIEW WITH KENYAN senior Journalist Jeff Koinange ended in a disarray after Uganda’s military stormed the venue.
While Jeff was on Tuesday January 12 hosting the popstar-turned-fierce opposition politician Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu aka Bobi Wine, Yoweri Museveni’s armed army officers raided the singer’s Kampala home, started assaulting anyone around hence disrupting the much awaited interview.
Hot 96 radio presenter Jeff Koinange who had already started the live interview was set to seek further updates on the emerging issues in Uganda’s elections slated January 14.
“I am sorry because as we speak I am being raided by the military.”
“I have to end the interview because I can see soldiers beating my security guards and I have to go down and give it attention,” said Bobi Wine as he cut short the transmission.
He had indicated to Jeff that so far 500 members of his campaign team had been arrested and detained without any reason.
“I have been campaigning in a bulletproof jacket and a ballistics helmet because I have survived three assassination attempts,” he told Jeff.
He further added that he will be winning the race against the incumbent Dictator because almost everyone in Uganda was yearning for a change after a long time.
Poll records shows that 17.6 million voters who are registered are expected to participate in choosing their president and other leaders.
And when asked what will happen shall Museveni fail to concede defeat, the National Unity Platform NUP leader said that cannot make part of their responsibility.
“Our business is to ensure the people of Uganda cast their votes and their voice is clear,” Bobi Wine stated.
Before he joined politics, Wine mostly referred to as the Ghetto President was a fierce lyricist in the pop industry who sung about evils against ugandans and Africa as a whole.
