ORANGE DEMOCRATIC MOVEMENT ODM PARTY Secretary General Edwin Sifuna has conceded to be true what Irungu Kang’ata said about the BBI popularity in Mt. Kenya.
Sifuna who was appearing on an interview on Citizen Tv today Thursday January 14 explained how the popularity of the project in Mt. Kenya had been suppressed by people who want to purely associate it with Mr. Odinga without looking at the merits.
He explained that Ruto and his cronies had taken the anti-BBI war deep down Kikuyu Region with wrong messaging so that to make the report to look like a misplaced priority.
“There is no clause in BBI that guarantees Raila the presidency once passed. We believe that this is a person who has built a political movement from a while back that when he declares he wants to run, he has a political party that has the best grassroots network. He does not need to hide behind reports such as the BBI,” Sifuna mentioned.
Murang’a Senator Irungu Kang’ata, through a leaked controversial letter had indicated to the head of State that the BBI popularity was something that must worry anyone who wants it passed.
On her part, Suba North MP Millie Odhiambo while appearing on JKL show on Wednesday alongside Senator Susan Kihika, also stated that if what Kang’ata had claimed through the letter was right, it was because of the way Ruto and his buddies had packaged the project just because their main intention was to see it flop so as to embarrass Mr. Odinga.
