When the former President of Kenya Daniel Toroitich Arap Moi died, speculations were rife that his vast wealth will be determined by his younger son Gideon Moi, this has however turned out not to be true.
Just six months after his demise, the highly talked about ‘Will’ is out and has been opened indicating how his billions in cash and kind will be distributed to his kin.
He wrote the document to ensure that all his children, without any favour, are equal partners in anything he had either money, business empires or properties.
“This was something that he did some time back before his condition deteriorated and he lost his voice. He made sure he shared out his property among all his children and dependents.” Korir was quoted.
Yego went ahead to intimate that the high voltage Will on Mois vast wealth was then deposited with a respected lawyer who he did not mention for both security and privacy reasons.
“The will was deposited with one of his lawyers that I cannot tell you,” Yego stated.
And according to insiders from the family, the Will was not well received by son Gideon Moi who now is the Baringo Senator. The purported Moi de facto heir reportedly believed he would be left with a huge portion of their wealthy than his brothers and sisters but this has turned out not to be the case.
Moi had interests in large scale farming, banking, transport and logistics, media and Real estate ventures all over the country.
Baringo Senator Gideon Moi, Jonathan Moi , Reymond Moi(MP Rongai Nakuru County) and John Mark are the obvious sons of the late Mzee Moi.
Gideon took over his fathers KANU Party as the successor.
