Friday, October 14, 2022 –Office of Mama Ida Odinga has confirmed the death of her bodyguard Barack Onyango Oduor on Friday morning of October 14.
Early findings indicated that the officer from Ida Odinga’s security team was short dead after he was involved in an ugly altercation with un identified individual in Kisumu.
Though detailed update is yet to be made public, a woman and a man who were said to be in the company of the bodyguard also sustained gunshot wounds before they were rushed to a nearby hospital.
Weighing on the matter, Nyanza Regional boss Karanja Muiruri alongside Ida’s head of security David Masaga said the bodyguard succumbed to the bullet wound.
The incident took place at his Riat home in Kisumu West Subcounty located near Raila Odinga’s Kisumu house commonly referred to as ‘Statehouse’.
Further reports however indicated that the slain officer was partying at a local club in Riat where the melee and the shootout ensued.
