Constitutional Lawyer and orator PLO Lumumba has decided to oppose the Building Bridges Initiative BBI agenda.
In his vocabulary-filled-long interview with Freelance Journalist Gerald Bitok last Monday December 7th, the city lawyer noted that, though Uhuru and his new friend Raila Odinga are planning to use unorthodox means to make sure the Report sails through upto the Referendum level, he will be among those who will be rejecting it.
“Even if they force it down our throats, we will have our say so that history may recall that when our constitution was being mutilated for no reason, we raised our voice even when it was not heard at its most eloquent,” Lumumba argued.
He cautioned the Head of State against pushing hard his ‘way as well as say’ down throats of Kenyans which he observed will one day come to haunt him in person.
“Let me remind them that there were leaders in the world who thought they were larger than life, but they do have their coming and going, so when we are amending the constitution, let us think of the next generation and not the next election,” he further said.
The renowned legal mind further said there has been a wrong culture which leaders have cultivated in their minds that Kenyans are fools who cannot question anything substantively.
He therefore said this will one day be forced to a sudden stop because it has happened elsewhere across the Continent of Africa.
