A second year student from Chuka University was last weekend found dead in her room.
Fellow students found her body dangling from the roof of her room pointing at suicidal reasons which might have led her to make such a daring move.
Lifeless body of Maria Joy Gatitu, a former Diploma student pursuing Community Development was discovered dangling but no one had a clue on what could have pushed the young girl to hang self.
Some friends of hers pointed at love related matters while others talked about depression for financial reasons.
“The body is currently at the morgue awaiting postmortem and burial. We send our deep heartfelt condolences to the family and friends, may her soul rest in peace,” a statement from Chuka read.
Students have of recent been taking their own lives due to either love related matters or due due to difficult economic times not able to meet their peer pressure lifestyles.
