A struggling Nairobi socialite Pendo was dragged to a Mombasa court after the man she thought would foot her bills for a hotel they were holed up in over the weekend escaped without notice.
Invoice bills which our desk has had a look at shows how the two lovebirds spent cool time together before the man discretely moved away leaving behind the lady who was still enjoying her drinks and breeze.
Court was told that Pendo accumulated a whopping sh 330,000 during the entire time of her stay in the lavish hotel but only settled sh 145,000 pledging to pay the balance in two day’s time.
And after two days, she was still unable to deliver the payment what triggered the hotel to block her from leaving the facility.
And as she was detained at the facility, the bill continued to pile up for two weeks before she was arrested and taken to court.
The hotel management tried hard to recover their cash without much success, according to complainants.
Appearing before Resident Magistrate David Odhiambo of Shanzu Law Courts Mombasa, Pendo denied the charges before she was freed on sh 100,000 bond or an alternative of sh 35,000 cash bail.
The court requires her to settle the debt she owes the hotel by March 15 next year or risk detention.
