CHIEF WHIP IN THE SENATE Irungu Kang’ata has said the future of the Building Bridges Initiative BBI remains bleak.
In a long letter he addressed to President Uhuru Kenyatta, Citizen Tv reported how Mr. Kang’ata had warned that BBI was poised to flop especially in Mt. Kenya Region where it is getting unpopular by day.

Through his research he conducted through unscientific method over the just ended December holiday, Kang’ata explained that only 2 out of 10 residents from Mt. Kenya supported the initiative while the rest did not want anything to do with the BBI.
“The President must rally Mt. Kenya MPs and Senators behind the BBI Report if he wants to win this battle,” Irungu stated in his letter on Sunday January 3rd.
We have warned the ruling outfit ad nauseum that BBI is ill- advised & Kenyans have no appetite for this misadventure. Kangata's admission of 20% support in Mt Kenya is to say the least being polite to his boss. https://t.co/pFg2UuJ7j3

He even went as far as mentioning that the forthcoming City gubernatorial race would see any Uhuru Kenyatta’s candidate terribly lose to any other stronger candidate.
Irungu, therefore through this letter, seemed to have had enough of sideshows from the head of State to finally and openly make this fact clear so that when the BBI flops he should not be the one to be blamed.
