Johnston Muthama has badly exposed Wiper Leader Kalonzo Musyoka’s weak financial muscles.
Speaking during a local burial programme in Machakos, Muthama went full blown on Kalonzo terming him a financially incapable politician who cannot mount a spirited presidential campaign to face off with the likes of Deputy President William Ruto or Raila Odinga.
The former senator threw the first salvo at Musyoka urging him to accept that he was nolonger a national figure in the country’s political arena. He termed Kalonzo’s ambitions as a pipe dream if his pockets are anything one can go by.
“I want to tell Kalonzo and those cheering him on, that presidential campaigns are not conducted the same way village politics are held.”
“Those who are serious about their presidential ambitions, hold huge gatherings in Nairobi, Mombasa and other key regions across Kenya.”
“Mounting a spirited presidential campaign requires huge financial resources and highly-strategic foot soldiers, [which I doubt Kalonzo has],” Muthama stated.
In his sharp rejoinder, however, the Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka told off Muthama reminding him how he has twice missed him in the previous two elections by asking him to support others.
“I have had enough of being used by other people for their own selfish political gains.”
“This time around, I will go to the negotiating table, I won’t send any go-betweens like I did in the past.”
“Muthama, you took me to Raila Odinga — twice — and the results are public knowledge.”
“I won’t continue playing second fiddle.”
“Time has come for me to chart my own course.”
“And, hear this, Muthama: ‘you cannot block Athi River waters from flowing by planting thickets in the watercourse’,” Kalonzo stated.
Muthama has not only been a top ally to Kalonzo but also a key financier, of Wiper and his absence in Kalonzo’s team will definitely have a ‘scaring’ negative impact for the former Vice president. Video/Courtesy-
