Wednesday, November 9, 2022 –Ex-Baringo Senator Gideon Moi has wished well those who have been nominated to the East African Legislative Assembly EALA.
His Wednesday November 9 comment is coming shortly after the Orange Democratic Movement ODM Party nominated Winnie Odinga to take up the role.
The ODM Selection Committee which met yesterday nominated Suleiman Shahbal from Mombasa Mohammed Diriye from Wajir, Winnie Odinga from Nairobi, Timothy Bosire from Nyamira, Beatrice Askul from Turkana and Justus Kizito from Kakamega to the EALA position.
Following this list, the former Baringo Senator Mr. Moi, on Wednesday, November 9, officially called it quits and instead wished well all those who had made it.
His withdrawal was made public by KANU Party Secretary of Political Affairs, Mr. Fred Okango.
“Moi has since withdrawn his candidature so as to give the opportunity to the other candidates. He wishes them the best of luck in their endeavours,” Mr. Okango stated.
On the other side, the government faction nominated 15 members to the EALA assembly. Among those featured in their nomination list were former nominated MP David Sankok and Hassan Omar.
Kenya will only have nine slots at the EALA.
