NEW ACTING GOVERNOR NAIROBI County Mr. Benson Mutura has been accepted into office.
Developments showed the new Nairobi boss share a warm moment with Nairobi Metropolitan Service NMS boss General Badi just minutes after his Monday morning swearing in ceremony.
Badi appeared a very happy man since his relationship with the embattled Mike Sonko seemed too frosty.
On his part, Mutura promised to deliver for the Nairobi people and to listen to their concerns on a personal basis.
“You have elected me to various positions in the city and I have never failed you. This will not be the first time,” Mr. Mutura said in his acceptance speech.
He further promised Nairobi residents that he will fight to end the budget stalemate to ensure service delivery in the city is not grounded. To this end, he signed budget warrants shortly after taking oath of office on Monday morning, thus paving way for release of Sh37.5bn budget that was on hold since October.
