Another tug of war between Deputy President William Ruto and his boss Uhuru Kenyatta has emerged over social media campaign platforms.
It has been reported that DP William Ruto’s campaign team is trying hard to repossess presidential campaign machinery for their 2022 activities.
The claims have however been denied by the DP team dispite suspicious activities having been detected on the Team Uhuru Facebook Page last Thursday.
“Team Uhuru is a legal entity.”
“The activities of Team Uhuru are designed and driven by hustlers.”
“We are a movement, where every hustler is a team leader.”
“We do not have titles and big bosses, we are all masters of our dreams and possibilities,” the group fired back.
But quickly weighing on the matter, political commentator and digital strategist Victor Gichohi termed their activities as illegal and that they ought to be stopped even if it means through courts.
“If I’m handling social media work for an organisation, and then move to join its rival company, the best thing to do is to relinquish control before leaving,” Gichohi stated.
It is reported that the team from Ruto’s side recently used the platform to stream live activities that directly attacked the Uhuru-led -government. That they used the platform to spread propaganda of the planned rigging of 2022 elections through Huduma Namba.
Reports reaching our desk shows that team Uhuru was founded by Kenyatta’s personal Secretary Jomo Gecaga in 2013 and 2017 but has since lost it to Ruto. The page has so far gained 96K followers.
