Friday, January 27, 2023 –President William Ruto has taken issue with his predecessor Uhuru Kenyatta for the failed Huduma Namba project.
Addressing Data Protection Conference in Nairobi on Friday morning, the president gave his ICT Cabinet Secretary Eliud Owalo a timeline under which the failed Huduma Namba project should be up and running.
“The Huduma-thing that never was must be a success. It’s not the work of the government to issue identification numbers, it is the work of the government to identify the citizens,” President Ruto affirmed.
This controversial project was initiated by Uhuru Kenyatta’s administration with an aim of harmonizing service delivery in government offices.
