Sunday, February 5, 2023 –Family of the Retired President Daniel Toroitich Arap Moi has suffered reduced security officers.
This is following the ongoing move by Kenya Kwanza government to reduce securities of all former heads of State including Mwai Kibaki.
“We saw the illegitimate government take way the security or downgrade the security of the former Head of State. And by extension to even families of former presidents,” Jeremiah Kioni decried on a Saturday.
Today Sunday February 5, it was reported that the government had moved to withdraw some officers who have been manning Moi’s Kabarak home in Nakuru.
The family was left confused when they noticed that some officers were missing even as it was celebrating the third anniversary of the late president.
“The family has always had tight security from the State but today, only four officers have been left to guard the tomb where Mzee Moi’s body lies because it is part of a national heritage,” the sourced stated.
The family will now be forced to hire private guards to take care of their properties and homes spread all over the country.
It was further revealed to the media that anything that is owned by Moi had been left without a police officer; something that has never happened before.
“The GSU officers that were permanently stationed at strategic positions around the farm, including the entrance to Kabarak University and Moi High School Kabarak, have been recalled,” he added.
Moi’s family has vast wealth in businesses, properties, auto-transport, farming among many others making it among the wealthiest in the country.
It also has properties in the US.
