Friday, December 16, 2022 –A police trainer at Kiganjo Police Training almost lost his life after a recruit-gone-rogue wanted to slash him dead with a sharpened panga.
Directorate of Criminal Investigations DCI issued a statement on the matter indicating that the Thursday December 15 incident almost left the squad leader at the country’s premier police training college dead following the attack.
In a documented report, the DCI reported that the recruit constable was not happy when their squad leader at the college asked him to pick a litter.
“Trouble started for the conscript after he failed to collect litter as instructed by his squad leader.
“A brief argument ensued before the suspect reached for the crucial course man’s implement used in clearing long grass and inflicted an injury on the squad leader’s head,” read the statement in part.
The injured training master was immediately rushed to the college clinic where he was attended to before being discharged.
The rogue recruit who was almost graduating has since been dismissed and slapped with a charge of assault.
