Sunday, May 8, 2022 –Outspoken Mathira Member of Parliament Rigathi Gachagua’s elder brother is dead.
Confirming this on Sunday May 8 afternoon through his Facebook page, MP Gachagua said his brother, James Reriani Gachagua, died at 78 after battling a long illness.
“We thank God for the life of our eldest brother and the head of the greater Gachagua family, James Reriani Gachagua who has gone to be with the Lord after a long illness bravely borne. We give glory to the Lord for the 78 years he lived and hold his immediate family in prayer as we embark on arrangements to lay him to rest. May his soul rest in eternal peace,” read Gachagua’s post.
The late Reriani, according to out sources, was a step brother to Hon. Gachagua and who has been a telecommunication engineer.
After the death, Nyeri County Governor Mutahi Kahiga was among the first persons to send their message of condolence describing the late as a man of the people.
He will be buried at his Mathira home.
