Monday, January 23, 2023 –President William Ruto has warned Raila Odinga against disturbing peace of the country.
Speaking during a church service held at Kerugoya Stadium in Kirinyaga County on Sunday January 22 morning, the Head of State cautioned the opposition leader against unnecessary threats on the streets.
“Those who are against the peace, and unity in the nation and they want to bring us old stories. I want to promise Kenya that we will not allow the country to be a hostage to threats and blackmail from a few people who are looking for their personal interests,” he stated.
Ruto was reacting to planned political rallies by the opposition in their bid to prove that they were robbed of their victory by the current regime.
For instance, Embakasi East Member of Parliament Paul Ongili aka Babu Owino said that the current government cannot stop them from holding gatherings anywhere.
“We will announce the last and final 2022 election results,” Owino uttered.
His stand was supported by former Azimio la Umoja running mate Martha Karua who insisted that the country will be told how the elections were bungled in favour of President William Ruto.
