Thursday, December 1, 2022 –Central Organization of Trade Union COTU Secretary General Francis Atwoli has today Thursday Dec 1 met with President William Ruto to mend fences.
Photos of the two leaders – all smiles – surfaced from Nairobi as Atwoli divulged the nitty-gritty of their discussion.
“This morning I paid a courtesy call to H.E President William Ruto whereby we held discussions on Kenya’s ratification of ILO C190 and outsourcing of labour. I also sought an appointment with the Head of State to meet and share with all @COTU_K Affiliated General Secretaries,” Mr. Atwoli stated.
Kenyans would quickly take to the comments section with varied reactions some lauding the two for burying the hatchet even after fighting each other throughout the recent campaign season.
“Papa @AtwoliDza just take it simple, Azimio COWS will troll and accuse you for everything and say that you are a traitor,take heart,” Seed noted.
Agape Mose, on his part, observed that the president seems to be among few persons who can forgive his adversaries and that this he had demonstrated it so well.
“I think William Ruto is among few leaders who have a clean forgiving heart. Mambo Atwoli alikuwa anaongea yalikuwa sio mazuri. Without a forgiving heart you can’t shake hands with him,” Agape Mose thought.
Others sought to know if Atwoli first apologized to the head of State during their today’s meeting that has since aroused anxiety.
Also present was former Sports CS Rashid Echesa, Senator Boni Khalwale and Speaker Moses Wetang’ula.
