Monday, May 8, 2022 –Maendeleo Chap Chap Party leader Governor Alfred Mutua has joined Deputy President William Ruto’s Kenya Kwanza.
On Monday May 9, the party leader stated that he had tried to engage with Mr. Odinga so that to solve the impasses but this was not helping anything.
Dr. Mutua argued that Azimio was running its affairs in an obscure manner with most of its top leadership not ready to listen.
“We cannot continue to be in a country of a few millionaires. Kenyans want jobs, more money, and the right leadership. I am aware that five other parties are about to leave due to its exclusiveness and zoning terms,” he announced.
He clarified that starting today he will traverse the country with Deputy President William Ruto, Musalia Mudeavadi and Moses Wetang’ula with an aim of liberating the country from the chains of capitalists.
“I will campaign for William Ruto. He is a good man and I believe he will make a change as he becomes the next leader of this country,” Mutua added.
Mutua revealed that he had reached an agreement with Ruto that there will be no zoning and that every party will be free to field aspirants anywhere.
Mutua’s withdrawal from Azimio-One Kenya alliance is coming at the time his colleague Kivutha Kibwana also warned Odinga that he was not comfortable working with him.
Another Governor who is also on his way out is Kilifi’s Amason Kingi.
