Monday, November 7, 2022 –Azimio la Umoja leader Raila Odinga and President William Ruto have flown out for same meeting.
On Monday November 7, Orange Democratic Movement ODM Party leadership confirmed that Mr. Odinga had left the country for Egypt to attend and address at the 2022 United Nations Climate Change Conference dubbed COP 27.
ODM added that Mr. Odinga is attending the conference in his capacity as a key longtime representative of the African Union AU.
“Raila Odinga on Monday morning left for Egypt to attend this year’s United Nations’ 27th Conference of the Parties on Climate Change.
“He was invited to address the meeting in his capacity as the AU High Rep. for Infrastructure Development in Africa,” the official statement explained.
Minutes later, Statehouse Spokesperson, Hussein Mohammed, accompanying Ruto to the same climate conference noted that his boss is also scheduled to address the conference.
“President Ruto to deliver statement on behalf the African Group and Kenya at the 27th UN Climate Change conference in Sharm El Sheikh, Egypt,” Husein updated.
Ruto will be utilizing the opportunity to hold bilateral talks with several other leaders.
