Saturday, May 27, 2023 –Professor PLO Lumumba has taken on Azimio la Umoja boss Raila Odinga for threatening government.
These comments by the former Prime Minister, on Friday, May 26, to break Kenya into two parts have since seen Lawyer Lumumba react.
“It is unfortunate that while citizens of goodwill are working towards East Africa (EA) integration and African unity, some Kenyan politicians are discussing secession in their quest for political offices.
“This megalomania must be condemned,” he said.
The lawyer’s comments were corroborated by his colleague, Ahmednasir Abdullahi, who thought Odinga and his opposition team were power-hungry and could go to the extent of distabilising the country just to own power.
While speaking in Yatta on Friday May 26, Mr. Odinga noted that the country had been hijacked by people who did not win elections and who had resorted to grabbing all powerful state positions by themselves and their cronies.
He pointed out Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua’s repeated utterances that the government only belonged to shareholders who supported them in campaigns.
And in that regard, Azimio boss accused President Ruto of perpetuating tribalism in his administration while pushing out other tribes from the government.
”We must correct these imbalances so that we know how many CSs, parastatal heads and where they come from..every Kenyan must feel greatly accommodated in government.
“Mr. Ruto must address Mr Gachagua’s remarks regarding citizen shareholding and clarify his stance. If he agrees with his deputy, then the non-shareholding majority of Kenyans will be compelled to pursue self-determination, as permitted by Kenyan and International laws.,” Raila said.
Raila further claimed that President Ruto is busy appointing people from a few tribes daily while leaving other communities on their own.
He went on to state that the the proposed taxation on helpless Kenyans will be dealt with equal force by his supporters, countrywide.
