Opposition Chief Raila Odinga has asked those who want to oppose the Referendum to go ahead and do so since it is part of the Democracy.
Speaking when he met with leaders from Mt. Kenya today Monday 23rd, Mr. Odinga noted that the document which had been prepared for by the BBI team was not perfect and will never be perfect even if it is given 100 years of correction.
He therefore urged those who think it is not sufficient to prepare and shoot it down in the referendum period and that is why voting on it is there.
He further argued that the Yes and No answer is introduced for the sole purpose of giving everyone an opportunity to pick that which he wants without being coaxed with anyone and that the world over there has never been a non-contested referendum.
“BBI has held extensive Consultations across the country, we have to move to the next phase of Signature Collection. You saw BREXIT, there are those who supported and those who opposed, that’s what Democracy is all about,” he said.
Deputy President William Ruto has been leading descending voices who still think the BBI Report needed much time to be corrected.
