Wednesday, January 11, 2023 –Government has taken full control of eCitizen which since its inception was being run by an unknown private firm.
Speaking to the press on Tuesday January 10, the Cabinet secretary said William Ruto’s government wants all services taken care of under one roof.
That, to fast-track the project, the CS noted that the eCitizen platform will have a lot of what every Kenyan wants to access.
Atleast 5000 government services will be served on the digital avenue within the next six months.
“We have just taken over the e-Citizen platform and want to upgrade the infrastructure and by next week we will be onboarding additional services on that platform from consumption of services by the public,” Mr. Owalo stated.
In his address, Owalo further noted that Huduma Namba rolled out by the previous regime was a good idea only that it was poorly implemented and promised to revive it in another proper way.
