Friday, October 14, 2022 –Energy Petroleum Regulatory Authority EPRA has today reduced fuel prices.
In the new prices, Petrol will now retail at sh 178 from sh 179.30 as Diesel now sells at sh 163 from sh 165.
Also Kerosene will be selling at sh 146 from sh 147.94 in new prices which were made official by the oil regulator.
This means Petrol and Kerosene went down by sh 1 as Diesel reduced by sh 2 in the prices that take effect from Friday October 14 midnight.
These new prices will however run for a period of only one month before new ones are also announced by the regulator depending on the market circumstances.
“Taking into account the weighted average cost of imported refined petroleum products and in line with Government policy, the changes in the maximum allowed petroleum pump prices in Nairobi are as follows: Super Petrol, Diesel and Kerosene decrease by sh 1 per litre, sh 2 per litre and sh 1 per litre respectively.
“The prices are inclusive of the 8% Value Added Tax (VAT) in line with the provisions of the Finance Act 2018, the Tax Laws (Amendment) Act 2020 and the revised rates for excise duty adjusted for inflation as per Legal Notice No. 194 of 2020,” EPRA made the announcement today.
Far away in Mombasa, Super Petrol will now sell at sh 175 as Diesel goes at sh 160 while Kerosene retail at sh 144.
