Kevin Omwenga’s murder case has taken a new twist after a different CCTV footage emerged showing key suspect Robert Bodo Ouko’s suspicious movements on the fateful day.
In the footage that Dundapost.com has had a look at, Ouko who was at the scene of murder can be seen clearly collecting and cocking the gun which was safely kept at Chris Obure’s offices in Kilimani.
The 5 minute footage managed to capture Mr. Ouko in Chris Obure’s office located along Galana Road, Nairobi. He then walked straight to the Obure’s table, picked keys, opened gun safe and loaded its magazine full before walking out with it.
He was also seen frantically making calls through a Walkie Talkie after he had picked the killer Ceska pistol at around 6:29 AM.
And after his target had been shot and rushed to Hospital, Ouko again returned at Obure’s office with the empty weapon which he had to first reload the magazine with new ammunition before stashing it back in the safe. This was at around 11:37 PM now, according to the tape, before heading to Kilimani Police Station where he was detained.
Ouko, interestingly, is not a licensed gun holder and, according to law, anyone without proper license must not touch such crucial weapons.
This new evidence may be relied upon by investigators in making sure Omwenga’s killers are brought to book.
Obure, through lawyer PLO Lumumba, has since distanced himself from the crime saying his bodyguard Robert Bodo Ouko took gun without his knowledge.
Both are still held by police. CCTV/Courtesy-
