Monday, November 7, 2022 –Leadership differences between Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi and Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua seemed to play out in the open for the first time.
In their efforts to address drought effects in the country, the two Kenya Kwanza leaders seemed to be pulling apart in opinion on who should be blamed for this.
Speaking in Machakos where he had flown to over the weekend to supervise distribution of relief food, the Amani National Congress ANC Party leader cautioned fellow leaders in government against their obsession with blame game.
He stated clearly that political blame-game will not help solve the food and economic crisis in the country and went ahead to urge all elected leaders to now focus their minds on service delivery.
“Now we must put behind us the blame-game because if we continue this way, sooner or later the currency of blame game will end,” said Mudavadi.
This remark, was quickly picked up by Kenyan online army which claimed that the new Prime Cabinet Secretary was indirectly hitting at Gachagua.
And just after Musalia had delivered this advice in public, Gachagua, in another meeting blasted both Uhuru Kenyatta and Raila Odinga for the failing economy and the hunger effects in the country.
“Raila would have stopped a lot of things including extrajudicial killings, state capture, conflict of interest and the stealing of public funds,” Gachagua argued.
Mudavadi and Gachagua’s clash comes as a surprise since each was offered his job description in their new government structure.
