Saturday, December 24, 2022 –Cabinet Secretary for Interior Kithure Kindiki has revealed how challenging his new work is.
Speaking on his 50 days in office, Prof Kindiki while appearing on Citizen Tv on Saturday December 24 explained that he has to be awake by 3AM every day including weekends to receive and act on Intelligence and security reports arriving on his desk from various security heads.
He also has to go to bed after 10PM every day, something, he said is part of the new changes in his life after being sworn in.
“It is a challenge like no other because every day at 3:30 am, I must be up so that I can get security briefs at 4:00am every day,” Kindiki stated.
He also revealed that he is still in constant communication with his predecessor Dr. Matiang’i who has called him atleast twice to discuss matters of national interest.
“Once or twice he has called me on national issues about what we are doing and he has given me good suggestions.
“We are in communication with Matiang’i and we wish him well in his new chapter,” he added.
The former Tharaka Nithi Senator told Citizen Tv that he shared a cordial relationship with his predecessor despite having had issues with him(Matiang’i) during Uhuru Kenyatta’s time.
