Monday, June 20, 2022 –Government has hinted at the return of lockdowns amid the rise of Covid-19 virus in the country.
Cabinet Secretary for Health Mutahi CS Mutahi Kagwe has today Monday June 20 directed the return of mandatory masking in public places among them matatus, supermarket, hospitals, churches, shopping malls and play grounds-cum-stadia.
“One is required to wear a mask when in contact with other people in closed, confined spaces such as PSVs, aircraft, offices, supermarkets, market places and places of worship.
“All indoor meetings to continue at full capacity of the venue but provided that people take measures to be fully vaccinated in order to do so. We are not restricting in-person worship. We also require worshipers to wear their face masks while inside the places of worship,” Mr. Kagwe stated.
Currently, the country is reporting a daily positivity rate of 12.6 percent according to June 20 records from the Ministry of health. Video-
