Tuesday, October 18, 2022 –Interior Cabinet Secretary Nominee Kithure Kindiki today appeared to struggle to remember his boss, President William Ruto, and instead mentioned Uhuru Kenyatta during his vetting in Parliament.
In the slip of the tongue video, the lawyer who was trying to defend his position in the current regime, found himself listing Gachagua and the former head of State, Mr. Kenyatta, as the people he intend to respect and work with in the next five years.
“I will be more than glad to work under Rigathi Gachagua together with President Uhuru Kenyatta…” he stammered on.
He would then try to rectify the mishap by replacing ‘Kenyatta’ with the current president William Ruto but this had already been picked up by everybody including the the media.
“Uhuru Kenyatta is the former president of Kenya. I also served under him very well until he towed me away for no reason,” he corrected.
The moderator, presiding Speaker Moses Wetang’ula, would quickly intervene to save him from more embarrassment.
