Saturday, January 7, 2023 –Several persons suspected to have fed on a sick cow meat have been hospitalized at Olenguruone Sub County Hospital, Nakuru County.
Tens of victims are reported to have eaten meat infected with dangerous East Coast Fever – a contagious animal disease.
An 11-year old boy was left dead after eating the infected meat feasted on by thelocals hit by hunger.
A local veterinary officer inadvertently directed them to where the carcass was lying not knowing that they would turn it into a delicacy.
Talking to Citizen Digital on Saturday January 7 morning, Village elder Joshua Langat noted that the dead boy drunk soup from the meat of the carcass.
So far, the body of the deceased has been moved to the said facility’s morgue.
