Nyeri Town MP Ngunjiri Wambugu has asserted that Covid-19 pandemic cannot stop the Building Bridges Initiative BBI to go on.
Speaking alongside Kikuyu MP Kimani Ichung’wah on Inooro TV yesterday Sunday Nov 22nd, the Kieleweke legislator clarified that the presence of the virus cannot be an excuse to stop running the country.
He mentioned the US which has just campaigned and voted in Joe Biden, Tanzania which completed their elections just the other day and the neighboring Uganda as some of the countries which never stopped to run their activities just because of Covid and therefore Kenya cannot be an exception.
He also added that it would be hypocritical to stop the BBI on account of Coronavirus when it was clear that the virus could be here to stay with people.
He was saying this after Ichung’wah, who is DP ally from Central Region had asked him if he knew the country was facing the Covid-19 challenge.
His sentiment was boosted by MP Homa Bay Peter Kaluma who has stated that life cannot stop because of the Coronavirus.
“The world will never stop because of corona virus. USA and Tanzania are just done with national elections. Uganda is campaigning. Bring BBI referendum we vote,” he asserted.
