Thursday, December 1, 2022 –-Nairobi Governor Johnson Sakaja has explained why he will give noisy churches a second chance to reform.
Speaking on the matter today Thursday December 1 afternoon during the official commissioning of Green Park Terminal on Thursday December 1, the newly-sworn into office city CEO mentioned that he will instead choose to involve them in a dialogue.
He added that, unlike clubs and restaurants, church owners should be treated differently because this was the first time they were being warned.
Sakaja who was speaking during the official commissioning of Green Park Terminal on Thursday December 1 insisted that dialogue would give a lasting solution on noise pollution in the city.
“I will not close the churches. We want them to spread the gospel on obeying rules and regulations. I will initiate talks with them because we must be reasonable and accommodate each other in the city,” he stated.
However, he said his quest to stop bars and restaurants from operating in residential areas will go on as planned.
