Tuesday, January 10, 2023 –Business lady Mary Wambui has won big after court dropped tax evasion charges against her.
In a court verdict delivered in Nairobi on Tuesday January 10 morning, Magistrate Felix Kombo found out that the charges leveled against the new State appointee lacked merit.
This was after the Director of Public Prosecution DPP Noordin Haji had earlier sought to withdraw the charges against the Kikuyu tycoon.
Towards last general election, the newly-appointed Communication Authority CA Chairperson had been accused of evading tax amounting to billions.
This saw the William Ruto-led faction take issue with the former regime of Uhuru Kenyatta for targeting anybody allied to Ruto.
Magistrate Felix Kombo has also exonerated her daughter who had also been named in the multimillion tax evasion network.
Noordin Haji asked the court to give him time to look and review a fresh letter from the Kenya Revenue Authority KRA.
Part of this being to consider the possibility of out-of-the- court settlement between the parties involved.
