Sunday, October 16, 2022 –Azimio Coalition leader Raila Odinga has given his supporters hopes of getting to the Statehouse.
Speaking in a funeral service of Jane Belinda Mwai, 88, mother of Bondo parliamentary aspirant Andiwo Mwai in Nyamira village on Saturday October 15, Mr. Odinga mentioned how he will not relent on reclaiming his stolen victory.
He pointed an accusing finger at the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission IEBC for colluding with his rivals in the August polls.
Raila, therefore, assured supporters that all was not lost and that each and every vote they casted will finally count.
“We know what happened but we will talk about it in the coming days.
“Are you ready for us to chase the thieves who have stolen our cows and driven them to the other side of the village? We must return our cows home,” the opposition chief said
The opposition chief then said there can never be another election in 2027 if electoral injustices are not addressed today.
“We cannot have a situation where people wake up in the morning and religiously cast their votes only for some foreigners to make decisions on their behalf,” he said as quoted by the Nation.Africa.
He also pointed out that the William Ruto-led government had started their governance on a wrong footing and they may not manage running this country for a full term.
He was peaking this while in the company of new Siaya Governor James Orengo, Vihiga Senator Godfrey Osotsi among several other leaders allied to his coalition.
