Thursday, October 27, 2022 –Five more arrests have been effected in connection to the disappearance of two Indian nationals.
The five who are part of the disbanded Special Service Unit SSU and who have been nabbed were part of the 21 who had been put on the spot for the crime that took place in July.
They had been summoned to show up before the Internal Affairs Unit IAU detectives for grilling.
They are expected to be availed in court today Thursday 27 even as the investigations into the disappearance of the foreigners and a Kenyan driver intensifies.
Police identified the two Indians as Zulfiqar Khan who is a media mogul, Mohamed Zaid and a taxi driver Nicodemus Mwania who went missing from July this year.
But even as the arrests continues, the four who are in police custody, through their lawyer Danstan Omari, described the purge as ill-intended.
“It is clear that there are external forces pushing for the arrest of my clients.
“They are being faulted for refusing to fix some of their seniors in the disappearance of 2 Indian nationals and their Kenyan driver,” said Lawyer Omari.
They claimed that the purpose of their arrest was to intimidate them to link the crime to their bosses.
