Saturday, January 14, 2023 –Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua wants police officers to be ferrying drunkards home.
Addressing the matter during his Nyanza Region tour which was attended by his boss William Ruto, Gachagua proposed that security officers should be servants of helpless pedestrians.
Helping the sick, stranded and drunk individuals reach hospital or home should be apart of the police officers’ work.
“Police should know that all citizens are their friends. They should take drunk people to their wives to rest and not the cells,” Mr Gachagua stated.
The DP was speaking this in Homa Bay town when he accompanied President William Ruto for a two-day development tour around Nyanza Region.
