Cornered Nairobi Governor Mike Mbuvi Sonko has gone into reading the Bible from morning to evening after he was finally impeached by Nairobi County MCAs.
Sonko’s outer came as a shocker to him since he had flown almost a full house to Kwale in Mombasa with hopes that this will help curtail the quorum required to eject him from office. It never worked since most of them still voted through Zoom platform.
Nairobi County Assembly speaker Benson Mutura beat Sonko in his own game after he allowed members who were not present to vote virtually what finally left the governor licking his own wounds.
The Governor has since gone not just mute, but also into reading the Bible throughput the day for solace and nourishment.
During moving of the outer motion, Michael Ogada faulted the governor for misusing power and county resources for his own benefit. He also mentioned how the governor was managing the county as if it was his own personal affair.
Sonko going into the bible is meant to help him not be finally impeached at the Senate level when the motion will be tabled for discussion.
“If you’ll keep being faithful, honoring God and being your best each day, then get ready for doors to open that you could never open. Get ready to go places that you’ve never dreamed. That’s God’s dream for you.” He captioned the photo in which he is reading and deeply digesting the Bible.
Since the inception of the rival Nairobi Metropolitan Services NMS, Mr. Sonko has been bitter claiming his job had been put at risk.
