A local musician in support of Deputy President William Ruto’s 2022 presidential bid was beaten to pulp in Bungoma County.
Identified as David Sakari of Webuye Juakali Band, eyewitnesses say the band man was attacked by those allied to Handshake team in the area while in a drinking joint in Bungoma.
Sakari told a local blog that his attackers led by Bernard Wakamala are supporters of both Uhuru and Raila Amollo Odinga.
He also claimed that the attack was carried out with a bear bottle hitting him on the head skull hence leaving him not only fainting but also bleeding on the ground.
“He took a beer bottle and hit me on the head twice.”
“I bled profusely before friends took me to Webuye Sub-County Hospital, where I was treated,” Sakari said.
According to Bungoma police led by Valarian Obore, all who were involved in the heinous act will be brought to book in a very short time.
In Bungoma County, Mr. Sakari who was once gifted a brand new car by Deputy President William Ruto has been traversing the county campaigning for him.
