Monday, November 21, 2022 –Angry residents of Kerugiro Village in Kirinyaga County have lynched two suspected cattle rustlers.
Locals who were on a dawn patrol cornered the suspects who were busy slaughtering the four cows believed to have been stolen.
The suspects had loaded part of the meat into their Toyota van before irate locals busted and stopped them immediately.
It is explained that the suspects started running to different directions before they were overwhelmed and beaten using machetes and rungus to a pulp.
The locals accused the four of being part of a wider network of a night gang terrorizing and stealing animals from the area.
They steal cows and goats, slaughter and sell them to ready markets in butchers located in different neighbouring counties – Kiambu, Murang’a and Nairobi.
